Privacy Policy.

Silent Rabbit is an iOS app and accompanying VPN service that protects your video and voice calls on untrusted networks via an automatic, per-call WireGuard tunnel. The service is operated from Australia and is subject to the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

In this policy, “we”, “us” and “Silent Rabbit” refer to the operator of the service. “You” means the person using the app.

We deliberately collect as little as possible. The complete list of personal information that touches our systems is:

• Your IP address. Required to route your VPN connection. Stored only for the duration of your session and discarded when the tunnel closes.
• Connection statistics. Bytes transferred, session duration, exit region, and timestamps for the start and end of each tunnel session. Used to operate the service, prevent abuse, and bill on a per-account basis (not per-session).

That’s the full list. We do not collect your name, email address (beyond what Apple provides for App Store billing), phone number, location, contacts, device identifiers, or any other personal information directly from the app.

To be explicit, Silent Rabbit does not log:

• The IP addresses, hostnames or domains you connect to through the tunnel.
• DNS queries made through the tunnel.
• The contents of any traffic — audio, video, messages, files, or anything else.
• Which apps you used or which calls you made.
• Browsing history of any kind.
• Metadata about who you called, when, or for how long.

Our infrastructure is configured so that this data is never written to disk. We route traffic; we do not record it.

We use the limited connection data described above to:

• Operate the VPN service (route packets, allocate IP addresses, balance load across exit regions).
• Detect and mitigate abuse — denial-of-service attacks, port scanning from our network, and similar.
• Provide aggregate statistics to you within the app (session duration, bytes up/down).
• Bill your subscription (per account, via the App Store — not per session).

All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles your payment details and account information under their own privacy policy; we never see your credit card or full name. We receive only an anonymised subscription identifier from Apple, which we use to determine whether your account is active.

Your IP address is held in memory only for the duration of an active session and is discarded immediately when the tunnel closes. Connection statistics (bytes, duration, region, timestamps) are retained for up to 30 days for operational and anti-abuse purposes, then deleted. We do not maintain historical archives of session data.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies. We do not embed third-party tracking SDKs in the app.

We will disclose information only when compelled by a valid Australian legal process (such as a warrant or court order). Because we do not log who you called, when, or what your traffic contained, the information available for disclosure is limited to what is described in Section 02.

Silent Rabbit operates VPN exit nodes in multiple regions (Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, London, Frankfurt, Washington DC). Your traffic transits the region you select. Account and billing records are held in Australia.

The tunnel itself uses WireGuard — a modern, open-source, independently audited VPN protocol. Server keys are stored on encrypted volumes and rotated on a regular cadence. Our cryptographic implementation is public and verifiable.

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you. Given how little we collect, in most cases there is nothing to access or correct beyond your subscription status. To make a request, email privacy@silentrabbit.net.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we have mishandled your information.

Silent Rabbit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

If we make material changes to this policy we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
